Amanda Miller Memorial WOD (21/07/12)

This is a world-wide online virtual event that will feature a SINGLE workout, Amanda, which is one of the toughest WODs in all of CrossFit.
Where: All CrossFits
When: Saturday, July 21st, 2012
Cost: $20
Amanda Miller competed in the 2009 CrossFit games and sadly, lost her battle with cancer less than one year later.
In 2010, the first WOD of the 2010 Games was dedicated to her and now “Amanda” is known as one of the gold-standard for fitness and tenacity in all of CrossFit.
This single-WOD, online competition allows athletes to train for and compete in a workout that raises awareness of cancer in children, and to attack a workout that is difficult and extremely challenging, with teh same fight, tenancity and determination that Amanda Miller brought to everything she did.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Bellevue, New York.
“Amanda” (9-7-5 Muscle Ups and Squat Snatches, #135/#95) will be performed at the box of your choice on July 21st, 2012.
The best time in each division (RX, scaled, Masters, etc) will win the division. Click here for more information about divisions and standards.

Jamie is a professional Graphic Designer from the Preston area in the UK. He has been CrossFitting since 2010 after being hooked since his first workout. The sport has seen him travel through Europe with different athletes visiting even more boxes and meeting fascinating people from the community. I'm a self confessed adrenalin junkie who like to go high, go hard and go fast. A particular love of mine is skiing (freestyle / freeride) and if I could spend my days living in a shack on the side of a snow covered mountain I would. I am part of the team that created BOXROXmedia, so if you have any questions, ideas or feedback regarding our services, let me know!
