Lever Training Park style – when there is no gym!
Front Lever Training in the park on Boxing day is a great way to rid those xmas blues…or all those maltesers and Christmas cake.
The training consisted of some lever drills and a pull up interval set [mainly because I want to get back to some pull up progression].
I did a quick warm up for the lever, but this really consists of my usual warm up for this type of session,
…then I did a warm up with some pull up sets; something I have neglected for awhile
Max out strict pull ups per set…x5, with 60 seconds rest inbewtween! I managed 91 across the 5 rounds. Not bad seen as I haven’t done this for a good few weeks.
Also trying out my new christmas present…check out my new Nike Stretch Gloves for bar work, just testing these new badboys out with some pull ups and levers, and I must say they work really good [thanks sis for the present]

Performing the front lever takes a lot of strength, especially in the core and shoulders, but most of all if you can factor in some simple gymnastic technique then you have a better chance. I have been following along with some gymnastic tutorials and use some of the techniques found there to help. Such as:
Palm on bar, lock in your shoulders to keep arms straight and locked out, this helps to apply a push down motion.

Simply put…levers take it out of you!
I can pretty much do back levers now no problem, however the problem is the front lever as it adopts different muscle groups.
If you need any advice on gloves i’ll be adding another post soon, or check out the new Nike Stretch Gloves you won’t be dissapointed by them.
…a Back Lever and Bar hop to finish with!
