About the event

Beyond The Wall is a same sex pairs functional fitness competition. Athletes enter as a pair, then complete 3 online qualifier workouts together. The highest scoring pairs are then selected from these workouts and invited to compete in the BTW finals, to compete for the title of Kings and Queens of the North (one Male winning pair and one Female winning pair in each category). It is exclusively for Scottish athletes to give these athletes a chance to step on centre stage and showcase their skills. Scotland has a wealth of great athletes and we want to give them a platform to become more well recognised for their achievements. The aim is also to produce a competition worthy of training hard all year round to compete at- we want it to be a big deal to hold the crown of Kings and Queens of the North!
BTW has one of the biggest Prize pots of any Scottish level competition, because we believe that the athletes who work hard enough to be able to take the competition floor deserve to be able to make a bit of cash doing that! It takes a lot of commitment and practice to become a competitive level athlete. We want to reward that dedication!
We also take a personal interest in the background of our athletes. In the lead up to competition you can see this in the “Whos who?” FB posts than run throughout the qualifiers. We see this as great opportunity for other athletes to learn more about the people within our fitness community and be inspired by their stories! We fell that it adds a bit more of a person feel to the whole competition scenario. We don’t just want our competition to be recognised, but also the athletes who compete in it, because without you it wouldn’t be possible!
Qualifiers are released on the 7th of July and finals we be in September, so keep the diary free!! Keep an eye out for further updates and maybe some clues about what to expect from the workouts!!!
