How did you come to CrossFit?
We were working as personal trainers for almost 10 years, when we came across CrossFit while searching the internet. We found a lot of similarities in our and CrossFits philosophy, so we tried a few workouts and were hooked.
Why did you open your own box?
We already had a location for personal training and we wanted to make good programming available for more people, as not everybody can afford personal training.
Why exactly should I join YOUR box? What makes it standout from others?
As already mention, we were personal trainers for 10 years before we affiliated. Every trainer in our box has an academic background in sport science and playing a sport on national level, so we often include some non-typical CrossFit movements from other athletic training.
How does your member structure look like? (Number of members, Male/Female, Young/Old, Athlete/Amateur)
We have around 120 members by now (November 2013), there is a nice mix of members, aging from 16-55 with around 40% female and 60% male. We have former national level athletes in different sports working out alongside people, who haven´t done any sport in their live before CrossFit. And all of them enjoy it!
Do you have additional training possibilities (Yoga, Gymnastics etc.) ?
We do offer personal training, which is CrossFit influenced, but more tailored to the persons needs. On Saturdays we have the possiblity to bring your kids and they get looked after and moved by a p.e. Teacher. And on Wednesdays we have a P.T. available for massages and physiotherapy.
Do you consult your members in nutrition questions?
Yes, but we are not forcing anyone. We have found, the more frequently and intense people work out, the more their eating habits change and they are more interested in nutrition.
If I start as a beginner – how does my training in the first month look like?
We have at least one beginners class every day. You will basically do the same workout as everyone else only adjusted to your fitness level, sometimes with easier movements than other classes. We do not have an onramp program, because we believe that it´s more useful to have mixed classes from beginner to elite, because everybody learns a lot better by watching others move.
Do you organize any internal or open competitions?
We give our members the possibility to do the workouts of all major competitions, like the open, battle of london, e.g. in our box. We will have some smaller competitions internal and open in 2014.

What’s your take on Fitness?
Keep it simple and give it your best effort. Master the basics, before trying to do fancy stuff. Take care about your mobility, practice your coordination and have a good mix between strength, all kinds of endurance and fun!
