How did you come to CrossFit?
Miguel: “I started doing CrossFit in Tenerife, about 1 year and a half ago. Some friends were doing it and they said it was hard but so addictive so I decided to try and I loved it from the first day.”
Fernando: “Miguel told me about CrossFit. He explained me what it was and its philosophy. I was really fascinated about this new sport, so I started to do some of their workouts and learn basic movements.”
José: “I have always practiced martial arts. I am a personal trainer and I had always trained using unconventional materials and when I discovered CrossFit I quickly saw it was for me.”
Why did you open your own box?
We loved CrossFit from the first day we tried it and we experienced the positive effects on our fitness and health after doing it, so we thought it could be interesting to offer what we learned to other people in our town as there was still nothing similar.
Why exactly should I join YOUR box? What makes it standout from others?
The people, the workouts and of course, the location. We are just 100 meters away from the promenade, the beach, a large park where we can do many outdoor workouts along the river.
How does your member structure look like? (Number of members, Male/Female, Young/Old, any competitive athletes?)
We have around 100 members, 60% male, 40% female, from 18 years old to 50. Mostly between 25-40.
Do you have additional training possibilities (Yoga, Gymnastics etc.)?
We offer just CrossFit (including Mobility courses, Weightlifting courses, Nutrition seminars, etc..)
Do you consult your members in nutrition questions?
Yes, we try to give them nutrition advice. We just did a nutrition talk about Paleo diet and Zone diet. We are doing right now a Paleo challenge following the Paleo diet for 30 days to see the progression or our clients.
If I start as a beginner – how does my training in the first month look like?
You would do 5 sessions of fundaments and then you would join the workout of the day scaled for you.
Do you organize any internal or open competitions?
Yes, we do some internal competitions and now we are part of a league between boxes in Málaga. Every month the competition is organized by a different box.
Do you have links to other boxes?
Yes, we have a great relationship with other boxes in Málaga, around Spain and even abroad.
Can I drop in if I am passing your city? Who do I have to contact?
Please! You are more than welcome to join us.
