James Newbury won The Pacific Regionals this year to secure his second trip to The CrossFit Games.

“Previously, he finished every Pacific and Australia Regional in or near the top 10, coming the closest to the podium in 2014, when he missed Games qualification by one place. Well what a crazy weekend! Met so many awesome people and had the most competitive showing in the last 6 years! So many people to thank for all the support and I will definitely miss some people so I'll keep this short! My family, friends, coaches, sponsors and of course my lovely @kaylabanfield I couldn't have done it without you all! You know exactly who you are. This year I did NOT put expectations on placings at regionals but took a more focused approach and giving my absolute best effort. It helped, A LOT! Special thanks to @rawstrengthandconditioning And to @dave_tyrrell for keeping me grounded this weekend and making the down time far from serious! ?Thanks to the @modefitness.adl for cheering loud! It helped immensely! My Coaching crew @rawstrengthandconditioning @themethodnow @iamunscared @activeliferx @ian.mackers my sponsors @2115nine @smaifitness @pranaon @fitaidaus @virusaustralia @garminau @gymfoodaustralia @nowcryotherapy and massive thanks to the @crossfitgames for an awesome weekend and bring on Madison!
