HOW DID YOU COME TO CROSSFIT

Actually my first contact with crossfit was an article in an american sports medicine journal. I got excited, red more about it and tried the first couple of WODs in the gym – and hell, that really changed the game.

WHY DID YOU OPEN YOUR OWN BOX?

I just had to do it. I never felt that kind of inner need like this before. There are several circumstances leaded to this point – meeting and chatting with Greg Glassman and Sevan Matossian on Hawaii during the Opens last year was one of them. They really inspired me.
I want to give something back to people, motivate them to start moving and to give access to whatever every single person wants to change or reach.

WHY EXACTLY SHOULD I JOIN YOUR BOX? WHAT MAKES IT STANDOUT FROM OTHERS?

That’s easy to say – you will have the time of your life with us. We are always focusing on the basics of good movements – making sure nobody is doing the fancy crossfit-stuff without beeing able to perform a proper basic movement. We do take our coaching and the needs of our members serious and try to develop every day – but we don’t take us too serious and you will get your first ab-soreness from laughing with us.

HOW DOES YOUR MEMBER STRUCTURE LOOK LIKE? (NUMBER OF MEMBERS, MALE/FEMALE, YOUNG/OLD, ATHLETE/AMATEUR)

We opened 4 weeks ago, so we’re not really able to give you an idea of numbers, structures and so on. But what we can say is that every single person – and i mean it -joined our box or got in contact with us – is absolutely awesome.

DO YOU HAVE ADDITIONAL TRAINING POSSIBILITIES (YOGA, GYMNASTICS ETC.)?

We will start doing additional mobilty classes from march on and are planning to integrate yoga to our box in the next months.

DO YOU CONSULT YOUR MEMBERS IN NUTRITION QUESTIONS?

Yes we do. we know about the importance of nutrition in terms of a healthier life and in terms of performance.

IF I START AS A BEGINNER – HOW DOES MY TRAINING IN THE FIRST MONTH LOOK LIKE?

You’ll start with a procuct called „Fundament“ – it contains 6 classes (gymnastics, press, squats, kettlebell, cardio and olympic weightlifting) giving you an overview on movements, about the structure of a crossfit class and your first WODs. It is also the time to find new friends and explore what this community thing is all about – you will enjoy it 😉

DO YOU ORGANIZE ANY INTERNAL OR OPEN COMPETITIONS?

Not yet but i’m quite sure we’ll do some fun stuff in the future – better be prepared for the unknowable 😉
