How did you come to CrossFit?

Balance is a large premium fitness club located in the heart of Stockholm. We have many Personal Trainers and a large variety och group training classes. Functional and high quality training have always been a strength for us so when one of our PT one day showed Crossfit.com and its workouts we instantly felt that this was perfect for us and we joined as one of the first affiliates in Sweden.

Why did you open your own box?

We already had the facilities and most of the equipment to do real Crossfit so for us it was more of a statement that we have Crossfit at Balance and that we have educated and experienced Coaches.

Why exactly should I join YOUR box? What makes it standout from others?

We like to standout as the CrossFit Box everyone can come and learn CrossFit; the fundamentals and the philosophy to the more advanced and complex movements/exercises. We offer small WOD-groups (6/group) more individual feedback and have 4 levels in-house to advance through CrossFit.

How does your member structure look like? (Number of members, Male/Female, Young/Old, any competitive athletes?)

Balance have over 2500 members but since we are a large fitness club, members sometimes do Crossfit and sometimes do other types of training. Counting the members that mostly do Crossfit, we approximately have about 200 members. We have a good mix between Males and Females, and the age is between 20-50. We have Coaches in our Coach-Team that are competitive in CrossFit, but not any active members.

Do you have additional training possibilities (Yoga, Gymnastics etc.)?

CFSV are located in a Full Premium Fitness Club! We offer all sorts of training possibilities; from Yoga, Pilates, Cardio Core, Functional Moves, Spinning, Kettlebell, TRX Toning and more! Naturally we offer fully equipped gym and professional trainers as well as Physiotherapists and massage therapists.

Do you consult your members in nutrition questions?

We do not ask as a standard. But we do emphasize that good nutrition are the base that everything else builds from. We also have Workshops in CrossFit, where we point out what type of food CrossFit recommend.

If I start as a beginner – how does my training in the first month look like?

That depends how the “beginner” want to start out. We basically offer two ways; a more met-con based “CrossFit Start” (that mostly focus on the met-con drill) or a WOD Start group that also include the 9 fundamental movements as well as additional exercises common in CrossFit WOD programs. The CrossFit WOD Start is our answer to an “On-Ramp” class. Some members combine going to CrossFit WOD-classes and Personal Training for a more balanced development in the more complex exercises.

Do you organize any internal or open competitions?

Yes! We organize internal competitions once every term and have Open Competitions as well as WODs inspired by Open and Games WODs.

Do you have links to other boxes?

No, we don’t have any cooperation with other boxes, but welcome all Crossfit lovers to come to Balance for a free test workout.
