Crossfitter vs Strongman – Alec Smith vs “The Mountain” in a Clean Ladder

When you're putting up some great lifts, but your opponent is making everything look easy!

“Not everyday you get to go head to head vs Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson AKA “The Mountain” in a clean ladder. His lifts looked easier the heavier the weight got ?

Ladder started at 145 kg (320 lbs) here and my last clean was around 177 kg (390lbs)! Got under 182 kg (402lbs) but just didn’t have it today. I think Hafþór hit a 186 kg 410lb muscle clean for his final lift. Such a beast, and such a nice guy.” Alec Smith

About The Author

Editor-In-Chief at BOXROX. I come from a background of rugby and weightlifting. Growing up in the English Lake District, I spent a great deal of time swimming in its stunning lakes and rivers. In 2015 my brothers and I became the first people to swim the 145km length of the River Eden, from source to mouth, in 9 days. We also swam the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the third largest in the world, and Crossfit is a huge part of my training for these events.
