Full Details for All Changes to Team Competitions at 2018 Regionals and CrossFit Games

More big changes from Dave Castro to the 2018 CrossFit Games season.

Dave Castro announced earlier today that teams will now consist of only 4 members instead of 6.

He released the news after the completion of the CrossFit Team Invitational, which the Pacific Team won (see link below). He stated that this had been an idea that he had had for some time, and that watching the athletes test this format during the Invitational had given him enough confidence that it would work effectively.

Castro also said that he believes this will help affiliates to create much stronger teams, and will widen the competition and make the events themselves even more exciting.

About The Author

Editor-In-Chief at BOXROX. I come from a background of rugby and weightlifting. Growing up in the English Lake District, I spent a great deal of time swimming in its stunning lakes and rivers. In 2015 my brothers and I became the first people to swim the 145km length of the River Eden, from source to mouth, in 9 days. We also swam the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the third largest in the world, and Crossfit is a huge part of my training for these events.
