Watching elite level CrossFit athletes complete workouts is fun and inspiring, but for for most (99%) of us, it bears no real resemblance to how we actually look when we workout. The Ro vs Boz series and ongoing rivalry is fun because it shows the everyday athletes struggling through the workouts just like us. It highlights those everyday fun competitions we have with our “frenemies”, and it reminds us that Crossfit is about getting fitter whatever standard you are at, not just the superhuman men and woman at the CrossFit Games!

When you get stuck into Open Workout 17.1, just remember to have fun and enjoy the experience, but also to remember to beat your rival at all costs as well!

About The Author

Editor-In-Chief at BOXROX. I come from a background of rugby and weightlifting. Growing up in the English Lake District, I spent a great deal of time swimming in its stunning lakes and rivers. In 2015 my brothers and I became the first people to swim the 145km length of the River Eden, from source to mouth, in 9 days. We also swam the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the third largest in the world, and Crossfit is a huge part of my training for these events.
