Sam Dancer Tries Heavy Squat Jerk for First Time – Nails 355 lbs / 161 kg!

CrossFit Games Athlete showcases his strength with his first attempt at a heavy Squat Jerk.

Sam Dancer: “I’ve never done a heavy squat jerk so I tried to build to a tough power clean and squat jerk. Didn’t get the power but managed to save the jerk at 355. Not bad for my first time, running 15+ miles a week and traveling like a mad man.”

“Yoked up Karen..150 squat clean d-ball over the yoke at head height with the 100 lb / 45 kg d-ball…took about 45min”

Editor-In-Chief at BOXROX. I come from a background of rugby and weightlifting. Growing up in the English Lake District, I spent a great deal of time swimming in its stunning lakes and rivers. In 2015 my brothers and I became the first people to swim the 145km length of the River Eden, from source to mouth, in 9 days. We also swam the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the third largest in the world, and Crossfit is a huge part of my training for these events.
