Swiss Alpine Battle and German Throwdown Each Ban 5 Athletes for Taking PEDs

Athletes are banned from these major European Events for PED use.

“Due to the recent news and development it is with regret that the Swiss Alpine Battle has to announce that the athletes who have been prohibited from participating in any CrossFit-sanctioned event will not be competing in this year’s Swiss Alpine Battle. We would like to take this opportunity to reiterate our position and that our stance has always been clear: we are against the use of performance enhancing drugs in our sport.”

“On Friday @crossfitgames announced that five regional competitors receive a four year ban due to positive tests for performance-enhancing drugs.⠀

The German Throwdown has a very clear stance on the use of PEDs in our sport and therefore will also ban the named athletes for the next four years.”

Both announcements by these two prestigious Events are based on the recent CrossFit uncovering of 5 Meridian Athletes that were taking banned substances. Read the full report here:

Editor-In-Chief at BOXROX. I come from a background of rugby and weightlifting. Growing up in the English Lake District, I spent a great deal of time swimming in its stunning lakes and rivers. In 2015 my brothers and I became the first people to swim the 145km length of the River Eden, from source to mouth, in 9 days. We also swam the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the third largest in the world, and Crossfit is a huge part of my training for these events.
