Conceptually, the CXT-3 has been created for those who commit to the process long before the crowd arrives. Built on the conviction that real gains come from repetition, resilience and commitment to the process, the CXT-3 is made to endure the quiet hours of training, supporting athletes through the hard work that defines every single training session.

Key features of the CXT-3:

Let’s check out what’s been updated since the CXT-2.

  • 8% Weight Reduction: Streamlined materials for quicker transitions and enhanced agility.
  • Enhanced Heel Lockdown: Reengineered heel design for secure lifts, lateral movement, and explosive work.
  • SURGENRG™ Midsole: Responsive foam for high-intensity training and short-distance runs.
  • TYRTAC™ Outsole: Redesigned tread pattern for superior grip and durability on all surfaces.

CEO of TYR Sport Matt DiLorenzo commented “With the CXT-3, we set out to build a training shoe that matches the ambition and purpose of today’s athlete,” and he highlighted how the shoe is aimed to help people achieve their fitness goals, “It’s engineered to support the hard work, focus, and commitment it takes to push through limits and chase long-term goals.”

Designed in Parallel with Elite Athletes

When creating the latest instalment in the CXT lineage, TYR worked with their roster of elite functional fitness athletes such as Jayson Hopper, Emma Lawson and Pat Vellner to collect input and test the shoes in the most demanding conditions.

This ensured that no stone was left unturned. The Games athletes helped to augment the design decisions that have led to a lighter shoe, a stabler lifting platform and a more flexible and responsive feel in general.

The key to designing any shoe for hybrid training and elite performance in functional fitness is balance. Engineering this balance is a continual process, and TYR have achieved a fantastic training shoe that looks stylish and preforms when you need it most.
