For the better part of the past decade, CrossFit Oslo has been a breeding ground for top class CrossFit teams. There is already a long list of Semi Final’s victories and CrossFit Games podium finishes from teams that have come out of the notorious gym in the Norway capital. However, it wasn’t until last year that a team from CrossFit Oslo emerged victorious and took the much desired gold medal at the Games.
The team being referenced here is the CrossFit Oslo Kriger. A combined effort from the CrossFit Oslo gym and the highly acclaimed, Norway based, Kriger Training brand.
Championship Winning Line Up and New Addition
Last year’s Championship winning line up consisted of Tola Morakinyo, Oda Lundekvam and Victor Helsinghof alongside one of the sport’s all time legend’s and the 2019 Second Fittest Woman on Earth, Kristin Holte.

This time around another legend is joining the team. One of Europe’s most succesful CrossFit athletes Bjorgvin Karl Guðmundsson is joining the party to replace Victor Helsinghof.
“When the idea to join the Kriger team was brought to me I was instantly excited. I’ve known Tola and Kristin for a long time and Oda is an athlete I’ve been very impressed with. I feel like I can fit in well with them and I also think this will be an experience I will enjoy a lot.”, says Bjorgvin.
Coaching Collaboration
Although the team bears the name of the Kriger training program, Bjorgvin has certainly not parted ways with coach Jami Tikkanen and The Training Plan. Jami has been his coach his entire career and that remains unchanged although Bjorgvin is joining the Kriger team at this time. This will be a collaborative effort between the two entities with a clear goal of repeating the success of last year.
Upcoming Competitions
The team will meet up in the next few days to kick things off formally and will from there on do the CrossFit Games Open together at CrossFit Oslo. From there, the goal is to compete at the French Throwdown in May and hopefully secure qualification for the CrossFit Games there.
Team Perspective
Tola Morakinyo is no stranger to competing in the Teams portion of the CrossFit Games where he’s featured multiple times already and he is excited about the coming season;
“In Oda and Kristin we have such a good mixture of skill and toughness. Kristin has so much experience and is good at virtually everything. Then Oda is just a machine. She would literally be my first pick for any team. The addition of BKG is then something I’m especially excited about. He is an incredible athlete and his career achievements speak for themselves. He is also just a solid dude and someone who gets well on with everyone. Really excited about the team we’ve managed to put together for this season.”
