Athletes must complete:

  • Husafell Carry

Women Round 1

The weights and distances for the women went as follows:

  • Carry Husefell bags 65 feet, 100lb / 45 kg
  • Next is the 65ft sled pull 90 lb / 41 kg loaded on the sled
  • The bags weigh 70, 100, and 150 lbs

Brandon won the first heat. Making light work of the sled pull and the bags. She won her heat in 42 seconds.

In the next heat Speegle was also quick with a time of 38 seconds. She has a history of working well with heavy sandbags, if we think back to her performance at The CrossFit Games and the 1RM heavy sandbag clean. Sturt and Loewen were also rapid.

The next heat featured Horvath, who had won this event twice before. She made it look easy and crossed the finish line in 00.37.35.

Each round alternated between the men and women.

Men Round 1

Going into Event 5 Crouch was in first position. Hopper had won 2 of the last 3 duel events at The Rogue Invitational, so he looked like the favorite.

The male athletes had to complete a 65-foot Husafell carry with 150 lb (68 kg), followed by a 65-foot sled pull with 275 lb (125 kg). They then placed three bags into a teeter weighing 100 lb (45 kg), 150 lb (68 kg), and 200 lb (91 kg). The teeter stood 48 inches high.

In heat 1 Haapalainen won by a considerable margin with a time of 00.34.37.

Vellner helped commentate the event, and talked about how every athlete needed to create a difficult balance of making zero mistakes, going 100% at all time, and throwing caution to the wind to give yourself an edge over the other competitors.

Lightfoot was fast in the next round. Fiebig and Newman were also quick, with Newman securing the heat win.

The next heat was Adler, Hopper, Gui, Martin and Garard. Ricky and Gui were both rapid. The Aussie won the heat.
