Thuri finished in 19th place at the CrossFit Games last year at is a powerful and talented athlete. At only 59 kg this 25 year old Icelandic competitor also competes as a weightlifter for her country on the international stage. Her gymnastic background gives her a great deal of proficiency on the rings and she is also a great runner. KRISTI ERAMO

Kristi is inspiring for many reasons, but also for managing to juggle a full time career with competing at the top level in CrossFit. 

“In 2016, Kristi Eramo took eighth place in her debut CrossFit Games appearance, the best finish of any female rookie at the Games that year. Previously an endurance athlete—in addition to her collegiate swimming career, she took seventh in her age division in the 2011 USA Age Group National Championship Olympic Distance triathlon—Eramo has demonstrated consistent improvement, ascending from 16th in her first regional appearance in 2014 to 10th in 2015, qualifying for the Games in 2016 with a fifth-place regional finish). A trainer at Four Barrel CrossFit East in Louisville, Kentucky, and an accountant by day, she shared the field with her mother, Donna Eramo, who took 10th in the Masters Women 55-59 Division at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games.” CrossFit Games

EMILY ABBOTT

Emily is a fun, smart and exceptionally dedicated athlete. 

“Three-time CrossFit Games veteran Emily Abbott has been a dominant force in Canada West since 2014. A former collegiate basketball player—she captained the University of Windsor Lancers to two national championships—Abbott started CrossFit in 2012. She won the Canada West Regional in 2014, her first regional appearance, and has never finished outside the top two at the regional level. At the Games, she has finished in the top half of the field for two of her three appearances, with a career-best finish of eighth in 2015. Abbott coaches Crossfit classes in Calgary, Alberta amongst various other side hustles.” CrossFit Games

JAMIE GREENE

This year is Jaime’s first in individual competition at the CrossFit Games. She won the Open in 2016 and finished 4th this year in the worldwide Open and at the Meridian Regionals. A CrossFit athlete since 2013 and coach at CrossFit Yas in Abu Dhabi, UAE, Greene helped team CrossFit Yas take third at the 2016 Reebok CrossFit Games.

Ozzie Tia-Clair finished in second place at the 2015 and 2016 CrossFit Games. After speaking to her recently (interview to be published soon) it is clear that she is 100% focused on winning the Games this year – and she definitely can. Her swimming background and excellent endurance, combined with her Olympic level weightlifting talent puts her in a strong position to take the top spot in Madison this year. Down to earth, friendly and always keen to help out other Crossfitters of all abilities, Tia cuts an inspirational figure.

KRISTIN HOLTE

Norwegian Games veteran, Kristin finished first at The Meridian Regionals this year. She is 31 and trains at CrossFit Oslo. After starting CrossFit in 2012, she took seventh in her first regional appearance at the 2013 Europe Regional. She has qualified for the Games every year since, consistently finishing in the top 17 with a career-best finish of 12th in 2016. A former gymnast and endurance athlete, Holte is a nutritionist by profession.
