Salomon has entered the endurance competition scene after announcing a 5-year partnership with Ironman. Starting in 2027, Salomon will become the official footwear and apparel sponsor of the triathlon operator.

Salomon is known across the globe for hiking, running, skiing, and other outdoor pursuits. However, its latest deal will give the brand exclusive rights across footwear, apparel, and technical bags. That’s not all, with Solomon to become the Title Partner of the 2027 Ironman World Championship, which will be hosted in Hawaii.

Why Salmon Is Making a Big Play For Endurance Competition

The premium brand is seemingly making a push for the competitive road running market, with Erin Cooper, Marketing Director of Performance at Salomon North America stating:

“It’s not just a logo that’s coming into a space, but really a chance for us to lean in with the product performance credibility with the athletes, lean into the dedicated community that already exists for Ironman.”

“It allows us to have this global stage to spread awareness of the Salomon road performance products in particular. What’s really interesting about an Ironman event is that the run is the last part of it, it’s really the decisive part of the competition, and it becomes this symbol that there’s no compromise that the athletes have.”

What Else Is In Store For Salomon?

Salomon sponsored athletes include Olympic skier Jessie Diggins, ultrarunner Courtney Dauwalter, and several Ironman competitors, including reigning world champion, Casper Stornes. Don’t be surprised if more high-profile names follow, with Salomon securing six US races and five across Europe.

This will be far more than the brand’s logo appearing across the race. There will be community events in the build-up to races, including warm-up runs, cheer zones, and panels. New York and Los Angeles will play a major role in Salomon’s plans, which include retail stores:

“We exist because we believe if we can get people outside in nature and in the community, that ultimately is going to unleash the best version of people,” Cooper said. “And to do that, they need incredible products to enable them. You’re going to continue to see the brand show up across all terrains.”

It’s also major news for Ironman, with Scott DeRue, Chief Executive Officer, stating:

“IRONMAN and Salomon are united in the belief that endurance sports unlock human potential. This partnership is rooted in a commitment to serve athletes and help them pursue ambitious goals. Salomon’s heritage, performance expertise, product innovation, and community-driven philosophy make the brand a natural partner for IRONMAN.”
