A consortium led by private equity firm L Catterton has acquired a majority stake in HYROX. The deal values the fitness series company at around $700 million and means that co-founders Christian Toezke and Moritz Fürste have regained a majority ownership.

The investor group behind the acquisition from Infront Sports & Media also features WNDR, a leading Silicon Valley venture capital firm. The deal was announced on September 8, and is the latest investment in the global phenomenon.

How The Deal Came About

It’s reported that a deal between HYROX and the L Catterton-led private equity firm had been in the works all summer. Infront Sports & Media had held the majority share since 2022, with the plan now to hire growth specialists to build on HYROX’s substantial early momentum.

Neither HYROX nor the Swiss firm Infront Sports & Media disclosed the finances behind the deal. However, co-founder Fuerste, a double Olympic gold medalist for the German hockey team, released the following statement:

“This acquisition marks a pivotal next step in the rapid evolution of the Hyrox success story.”

What Does The Future Hold For HYROX?

For those unfamiliar, HYROX is a fitness competition involving a series of running and gym workouts. Debuting in Germany in 2017, HYROX took off after the COVID-19 pandemic. The numbers don’t lie. Over 1.4 million hybrid athletes participated in HYROX events in 2025-26, up from 80,000 in 2022-23.

There is even noise that HYROX could be part of the Summer Olympics within 10 years. HYROX India Head, Deepak Raj, told reporters that the organization was pushing for HYROX to be added to the program at the 2032 or 2036 Games.

Why The Latest Investment Could Be Big News For HYROX

However, Fuerste recently spoke of the struggle to meet demand. This is where L Catterton comes in. The company has over $40 billion in consumer-focused assets to its name.

Other investments include Dishoom, fashion brand APC, and Peloton. It’s understood that HYROX will look to use the extra cash to improve its endorsements with international companies.

L Catterton partner Miray Topay said: “HYROX has done something rare in sport: built a genuine global community around a brand-new format.”
