Kristin Holte, silver medalist at the 2019 CrossFit Games, recently posted updates about her recovery from surgey.
“Two weeks ago I was in surgery for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on my left wrist??This is something I have struggled with for over a year and there was just no way around it anymore. I had the same surgery on my right wrist in November 2016 and for those of you who remember Meridian Regionals 2017, you know that it ended pretty well. ?”
As an athlete, Kristin is renowned for her incredible endurance and powerful gymnastic skills, but has worked relentlessly on her weightlifting and strength, and the results were evident in Madison. Her mentality towards her recovery is characteristically stoic.
“Recovery is going great and I should be back to using my hand as normal in about 4 weeks. In the meantime I am biking, running and building super strong legs. #NoExcuse”
“I do believe that every injury or setback is a great opportunity to learn, grow and come back stronger and better than ever. So that is what I am going to do! ✨ #IWillBeBack Thanks to @Apexklinikken for the support and help with recovery.”
A native of Oslo, Norway, Kristin Holte is a three-time CrossFit Games veteran. After starting CrossFit in 2012, she took seventh in her first regional appearance at the 2013 Europe Regional. She has qualified for the Games every year since, consistently finishing in the top 17 with a career-best finish of 2nd in 2019. A former gymnast and endurance athlete, Holte is a nutritionist by profession.
