The German Throwdown is the elite fitness competition in Germany. In its fourth year, it will yet again stand apart as a true test of fitness and fortitude. Athletes will be required to perform tough workouts that push their resolve, technical abilities and physical capabilities to the limit. Incorporating gymnastic movements, weightlifting, endurance and many other movements into the programming, this will be a great challenge and a fierce competition set on an international stage.

Quick Tip for Competitors: Warming up

This seems to be a no brainer, but in reality every competitor is warming up for event one only.

Warm up should stay in the sub 20 minutes time frame. There is no need to warm up for a whole hour, especially when four events are coming that same day. I personally have a 3-time 5 minutes rule. Five mins of a general warm up (row/run), 5 minutes of specific (movement prep for the particular Crossfit workout) and 5 minutes WOD flow prep where I test upcoming movements.

About The Author

Editor-In-Chief at BOXROX. I come from a background of rugby and weightlifting. Growing up in the English Lake District, I spent a great deal of time swimming in its stunning lakes and rivers. In 2015 my brothers and I became the first people to swim the 145km length of the River Eden, from source to mouth, in 9 days. We also swam the Corryvreckan whirlpool, the third largest in the world, and Crossfit is a huge part of my training for these events.
