Director of the Games Dave Castro has posted the first clue for 2018 CrossFit Games. These are normally enigmatic and difficult to predict, but are fun none the less.

Dave Castro often posts books on his instagram, but this one has been given the hashtag #crossfitgames.
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy is a pretty epic read, but is an incredibly worthwhile use of your time if you get the chance to do so. The book broadly focuses on Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812 and follows three of the most well-known characters in literature: Pierre Bezukhov, the illegitimate son of a count who is fighting for his inheritance and yearning for spiritual fulfillment; Prince Andrei Bolkonsky, who leaves his family behind to fight in the war against Napoleon; and Natasha Rostov, the beautiful young daughter of a nobleman who intrigues both men.
What this has to do with CrossFit is anyone’s guess, so let us know what you think in the comments section below ⬇
Perhaps it is hinting towards the Russian athletes that will be competing for the first time, or that the 2018 CrossFit games will completely destroy all entrants, or it may just be a red herring.
