With the 2026 HYROX World Championships in Stockholm approaching, Dylan Scott knows exactly where he stands.
The American athlete has been one of the most consistent performers in HYROX this season, collecting podium finishes across major events and securing his place among the favorites heading into June. However, in a recent interview uploaded to Hybrid Fitness Media’s YouTube channel, Scott made it clear that consistency alone will not be enough when the world’s best line up in Sweden.
“There is a path to beating him,” Scott said when discussing reigning champion Alexander Roncevic. “He’s not unbeatable. Nobody’s unbeatable.”
A Consistent 25/26 Season at The Elite Level
Scott heads to Stockholm after one of the strongest seasons of his career.
He recently claimed victory in the Pro Men division at HYROX New York, crossing the line in 55:44. The race provided one final competitive effort before Worlds, though Scott was quick to point out that more will be required in Sweden.
“It’s all eyes to Stockholm now,” he wrote on his Instagram post. “I’ll have to race better than this to even be in the conversation.”
Outside of an illness-affected Elite 15 performance in Phoenix, Scott has rarely been far from the front of the field. He finished second at the Americas Championships, the Warsaw Major, and the Hamburg major, while adding multiple doubles victories alongside Stephen Pelkofer and Lauren Weeks.
Who Can Win The World Title?
Despite the results, Scott was realistic about the challenge waiting in Stockholm.
During the interview, he explained that athletes such as Alexander Roncevic, Hunter McIntyre, Rich Ryan, and several others have made the men’s field deeper than ever.
“There’s like eight guys on this list that could win this thing,” he said.
Scott believes Roncevic remains beatable, but only with near-perfect execution. He acknowledged that closing the early gaps in the race will be critical if he wants to stay in contention deep into the competition.
The Final Build Toward Worlds
With Stockholm now just weeks away, Scott has identified several areas of focus.
He plans to improve top-end running speed, continue building power on the sled push and sled pull, and sharpen his burpee broad jumps, a station he views as one of his strongest opportunities to gain ground.
The preparation comes while managing a hamstring issue that surfaced during the Warsaw Major, though Scott remains confident in the work ahead.
For an athlete known for his race intelligence and calculated pacing, the objective is straightforward.
Put himself in position and be ready when opportunities appear.
One More Opportunity
Scott has long been a part of HYROX’s elite. Podiums at major races, doubles victories, and another win in New York have reinforced that status.
Now comes the biggest test of the season. Dylan has achieved everything in HYROX except a world title. Can he take that last step? Stockholm offers the chance to turn a year filled with consistency into the result every elite athlete is chasing.
