So, do this every day to lose weight. It has been scientifically proven that it is the best way to burn more calories without having to change your diet or sweat your ass off for long hours in the gym.

The fact that you can do this every day, burn loads of calories and still not need a long time to recover makes this the ultimate best exercise for weight loss goals. “I’m talking about a goals-based walking program,” Posternak says.
A recent study showed that participants lost an average of 17 pounds in 6 months by just walking. This happened without changing anything else in their lives – they ate the same amount as before.
How to set this up?
Ideally, you want to walk 10,000 steps every day. The more, the merrier. You are also allowed to walk fewer steps on any given day, but Posternak advises not to go lower than 7,000 steps to see noticeable results every week.
There are a couple of factors that will influence the amount of calories you burn. Take this into consideration:
- The heavier you are, the more weight you are moving and, therefore, the more calories you are burning.
- The more incline the surface you walk, the more calories you burn.
- Walking on a treadmill burns less calories than walking outside as the treadmill is moving for you and you just need to keep up.
By walking 10,000 steps every day, at the end of the week, you will burn anywhere from 2800 to 3500 calories – that is usually more than a day’s worth of calories.
According to Posternak, you can double your calorie deficit by just walking 10,000 steps every day.
