Unfortunately, CrossFit has not shared the exact weights of equipment in kilograms. 50 pounds are technically 22.67 kilograms and athletes around the globe will want to know if they should utilise the 22-kilo dumbbell or the 23-kilo, for example.

We are still waiting for CrossFit to release the equipment list for the Foundation category. Last year’s participants needed a dumbbell, barbell and bumper plates.

What Exercises Can We Expect for the 2022 CrossFit Open?

Note: it is possible some equipment from the list will not be used during the 2022 CrossFit Open.

The first thing that stands out is the fact that athletes will only need one dumbbell during the Open. That means that thrusters with dumbbells are out of the question, however, we can still see thrusters with a barbell.

The jump rope was expected as double-unders was involved in every single Open for the past 5 consecutive years.

There will be no rowing, wall balls or anything on an assault bike. No rings on the list and even if you are an adaptive athlete, chances of a ring muscle-up are very slim.

With the wall space required, it is likely we could have either wall walks again or handstand push-ups.
