How to Watch the Norwegian CrossFit Championship

Set in the beautiful Norwegian mountains, the Norwegian CrossFit Championship kicks off today, 14th of February, and runs until Sunday 16th.

An invitation to the 2020 CrossFit Games is up for grabs for the top male, female and team athletes who haven’t already qualified via a different mean.

There are a few top athletes on the leaderboard and the first event of the competition will take athletes for a run in the snowy mountains of Gol, making for a unique test and exciting competition.

The Sanctional with a winter’s touch will be livestreamed on the Norwegian CrossFit Championship’s YouTube channel. You can follow the competition live here.

The NCC will test individual Elite athletes over nine events, starting Friday with the mountain run, muscle ups for Event 2 and a snatch ladder with burpees on Event 5.

Saturday kicks off with a short wall balls and toes to bar workout, immediately followed by a one minute transition into Event 5, handstand walk and dumbbell box step overs. A Concept2 workout will follow to end the day.

Sunday’s events include deadlifts, a 3RM front squat and a combination of thrusters and gymnastics.

Before the workouts were released, Phil Hesketh from prepared.programming said: “I spent the last few weeks running through the individual workouts to make sure that they gave the intended stimulus and to get a feel for how much recovery would be needed between events.

“There is a fine line between over and under programming an event like this and the trick is to have a very good understanding of your target athletes. We want the @norwegiancrossfitchampionship to be a great test of fitness without having to break the athletes.”

The Norwegian CrossFit Championship will also host two Masters (35-39 and 40+) and a Community division.

The top Male and Female Individual Elite Finishers, as well as the top placed Team of 4 will move on the compete at the 2020 CrossFit Games.
