Tim Wenisch Back to Work After Warsaw with Focus on Stockholm Preparation

For Tim Wenisch, the turnaround after a major race is a chance to refine what comes next.

Just days after competing at HYROX Warsaw, where he finished fourth in the Elite 15 race with a time of 53:18, Wenisch was already back on the track. His latest YouTube upload shows exactly how he resets after competition and builds toward the next target.

“Unfortunately, my back tightened up relatively early in the race,” he said in a statement translated from German to English. “During the sled pull, it was incredibly stiff… I couldn’t push the runs the way I normally would.”

Despite that, he still came close to the podium and followed it with a win in Elite Doubles alongside Alexander Rončević. It was another reminder of his ability to stay competitive even when things are not fully in place.

Turning Setbacks Into Structure

Rather than dwell on the result, Wenisch shifted quickly into preparation mode.

“I can still take something positive away from the whole experience,” he said. “The direction is right, the performance is right.”

With eight weeks until the HYROX World Championships in Stockholm, the focus is now on sharpening key areas.

A Session Built for Race Demands

The track workout he shared reflects that intent. The session combined threshold work with progressive intervals, starting with 1600 meters at controlled pace, followed by descending distances from 400 meters down to 200 meters, before finishing with another sustained effort.

It is a session designed to build speed while holding form under fatigue.

Wenisch also highlighted the importance of adapting to conditions. Strong winds on the track forced adjustments to pacing, reinforcing the need to respond to variables rather than chase exact numbers.

Confidence in Current Form

Even with the added challenge, he came away encouraged.

“I’d say I’ve never been in such good running shape as I am now.”

That confidence is backed by recent performances. Earlier this season, Wenisch claimed a world record in Elite Doubles and continues to operate at a consistently high level across both formats.

Eyes on Stockholm

The approach is straightforward. Train with intent, address small weaknesses, and arrive sharper.

After Warsaw, the work continues, and the next phase is already underway.
