Rich Froning and CrossFit Mayhem have never won a swimming event at the CrossFit Games so it is pretty clear that have been working on their weaknesses. They secured victory in a solid time of 43:49.35.

This was both an intriguing and tactical event. Some teams chose to stick together, to draft each other on the kayak (saving energy and improving efficiency) and some did not.

CrossFit Pro1 and CrossFit Surbiton, in second and third respectively finished only seconds apart to wrap up their confident and encouraging start to the 2021 CrossFit Games Teams Division.

42-ft. Bob drag

Time cap: 12 min.

Many of the teams have learned how to handle Big Bob, despite not having access to that exact piece of equipment. Having the stronger athletes at the front allows the front to be slightly elevated and pushed with less friction and resistance.

The Norwegian government gave CrossFit Oslo elite athlete status during the pandemic so that they were able to train togther. Many other teams were not able to train together as much as they would have liked due to COVID-19.

Seeing them out on the field at North Park the Scandinavians, worked intelligently and collectively with powerful teamwork.

The event taxed the anterior and posterior of the body and destroyed the core. Athletes were required to hold the Rogue “Cheesecurds” whilst resting, so this was a true test of strength and skill under fatigued conditions.

CrossFit Mayhem chalked up two more wins during these back to back events.

The adaptation of this brutal event for the Teams division was no less of a physical sledgehammer than the Individuals.

The syncho element meant that athletes had to communicate and control their movements even whilst severely fatigued.

Mayhem took the win to go four for four on day 1. Their official time was 25:37.73.

They are the only team in CrossFit Games history to win all four of the first events in a row.
