Juice & Toya Take On Their First HYROX Together in Houston

For Julius White and LaToya White, stepping onto the HYROX floor in Houston was a different kind of challenge.

Known to millions through their YouTube channel, the Los Angeles-based couple has built a reputation around accessible home workouts. But at HYROX Houston 2026, they put that training to the test in a competitive setting for the first time.

Racing in Mixed Doubles, they crossed the line in 1:12:17 after 8 kilometers of running and eight demanding workout stations.

“It’s basically a lot of running and a lot of workouts,” Julius explained on their YouTube channel after the race. “Most of it is endurance.”

That reality shaped their preparation. Both followed structured 12-week programs, with a growing emphasis on running and what HYROX athletes call “compromised efforts,” running on tired legs after strength work.

For LaToya, the build-up came with additional challenges. She entered the training phase around 15–16 months postpartum, balancing recovery, family life, and consistent training.

‘I hadn’t fully gotten into intense training yet postpartum,’ she said. ‘I hadn’t been running really… I’d jog, but I hadn’t pushed myself.’”

Learning in Real Time

Race day brought its own lessons.

The volume of running stood out immediately, along with the intensity of moving between stations without true recovery. Even the environment added another layer, with crowded lanes forcing constant adjustments in pacing and positioning.

Despite that, the experience delivered exactly what they were looking for.

“All in all, we had a great experience,” Julius said. “HYROX Houston was definitely something we’re going to remember for a lifetime.”

They also had to adapt mid-race. A quad cramp forced a quick change in strategy during the farmers carry, highlighting the importance of communication in doubles competition.

“Being able to adjust on the fly helped us a lot,” LaToya added.

The Real Flex

For the couple, the race carried a different kind of meaning.

“For us, this was huge because we hadn’t ever gotten the opportunity to even see each other compete, but we also got the chance to compete together,” Julius said.

That shared experience extended beyond the course. In a post-race message, they described competing as a couple as “the real flex,” with their biggest supporter cheering them on from the sidelines.

Now, with one race completed, their focus has already shifted forward.

“Now that we have one under our belt, we can’t wait to beat our time at the next one,” they shared on Instagram.

HYROX Dallas might be next.
