Mark Wahlberg Targets Affordable Longevity With Municipal Gym

Mark Wahlberg certainly hasn’t hidden his excitement at opening his Municipal Gym gym in December. The 32,000 square foot facility based just outside of Las Vegas will feature epigenetic testing, recovery equipment, compression therapy, and cold plunges. Despite this, the Hollywood star is still hoping it will be an affordable alternative to clubs charging tens of thousands of dollars a year.

Why Wahlberg Has Entered The Gym Market

The launch is just around the corner, but Wahlberg’s plan started seven years ago with a sportswear line. Municipal launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, something the superstar actor has admitted “was not a good idea”.

The Municipal gym offers three rounds of blood work for $99, which sounds like a fair price, given that Equinox currently has a waitlist for a $36,000 longevity add-on, and a Fountain Life subscription costs $21,500 a year. Speaking on the opening, Wahlberg stated:

“We have a better price point than our competitors, and we’re going to get far more results. For $99, members will receive three rounds of blood work and an hour with a doctor to flag what they’re predisposed to. Supplements and hormone therapy are also right there.”

What Can Members Expect From The  Municipal Gym?

More gyms are almost certain to follow, but Wahlberg hasn’t put a number on how many he wants. Wahlberg invested in F45 in 2019, but the company, known for its group fitness classes, saw its stock collapse and was ultimately delisted from the NYSE in 2023.

The Municipal name is a tribute to Wahlberg’s tough upbringing in Boston and 4am training schedule, and he spoke on how his new gym will operate:

“It’s a place to work, but have fun and support each other and create community and really challenge people to be better versions of themselves. I’ve come from next to nothing to being in an amazing position. I try to constantly remind myself that I can inspire other people growing up in similar situations, especially inner-city kids and at-risk youth, that there is a way to overcome your circumstances if you’re willing to go out there and do the work.”

Doors are expected to open in early 2027, with “Municipal”, and “Municipal Mindset” memberships available $99 per month. Based in Downtown Summerlin, with EōS Fitness having partnered with Wahlberg to help. Members can expect elite training, world-class equipment, and expert coaching.
