It was unveiled just days ago. Now it is already part of marathon history.
The new Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 made its debut this week and within hours it was on the feet of Sebastian Sawe as he delivered a historic 1:59:30 performance at the London Marathon.

Weighing just 97 grams, the Pro Evo 3 is the lightest racing shoe Adidas has ever produced. More importantly, it has been designed to push the limits of what is possible over the marathon distance and it did not take long to prove it.
Sawe’s performance was not just fast. It was progressive, controlled, and efficient deep into the race. A shoe unveiled this week is now directly tied to one of the most significant runs in marathon history.

What Makes the Pro Evo 3 Different?
It is a complete redesign built on a simple goal: go lighter without sacrificing performance.
Key upgrades include:
Next generation Lightstrike Pro Evo foam
Adidas’ lightest and most responsive foam to date, delivering major weight reduction while maintaining energy return and cushioning across the full marathon.
ENERGYRIM carbon system
A reworked carbon structure replaces previous rod based designs and integrates directly into the midsole to improve stiffness, propulsion and efficiency.
Sub 100 gram construction
At under 100 grams, this is a different category of race day shoe built for marginal gains at the highest level.
39mm stack height
Maximising cushioning and energy return without compromising speed.
Ultra minimal upper
Inspired by kitesurfing materials, stripped back to deliver support with minimal weight.
Refined outsole
Strategic Continental rubber placement provides grip at high speeds without adding unnecessary mass.

Three Years of Development, Immediate Impact
The Pro Evo 3 is the result of more than three years of development, tested across elite environments from high altitude camps in Kenya and Ethiopia to lab work in Germany.
The goal was clear: create a sub 100 gram racing shoe that improves performance.
That goal has now been validated on the biggest stage.
The Adizero line has already dominated road racing in recent years, with hundreds of elite wins and multiple world records.
A shoe unveiled this week.
A sub 2 performance delivered days later.
And a clear signal that the next phase of supershoe innovation has already arrived.
Below are his splits for average pace per kilometer over the race. A single sub-3 kilometer is out of reach for all but a tiny minority of runners and he maintained that for an entire marathon. Even more impressive, he was getting faster as the race went on:
42km: 02:40
5km: 02:51
10km: 02:53
15km: 02:55
20km: 02:51
Half: 02:52
25km: 02:53
30km: 02:53
35km: 02:47
40km: 02:45
