Losing weight is easy in theory, but not in reality. You need to burn more calories than you consume. But the difficulty is to understand how many calories certain products have. And that is where this list of 9 foods you should never eat if you want a six-pack becomes handy.
According to Posternak, these ingredients are not only full of calories but also chemicals that will hinder your weight loss process. See it for yourself.
1. Ice Cream
It should come as no surprise that ice cream is on this list of foods you should never eat if you want a six-pack. It is full of sugar and is linked with increased blood sugar, blood triglycerides and can result in diabetes.
2. Microwave Popcorn
“Almost all microwave popcorn variety come in a bag that’s line with this terrible chemical that is found in Teflon pots and pans.” The chemical, when heated, has been linked with infertility, cancer and other diseases in lab animals.
3. Oreos
Although Posternak exemplifies Oreos in his video of foods you should never eat if you want a six-pack, in general, any cookie you buy in a package can be seen as bad for you to see your abs.
Cookies will lead to a spike in insulin and you won’t be able to burn fat until your insulin levels drop.
4. Soft Drinks
A cup of Peach Snapple, for example, has 200 calories, 48 grams of sugar or 12 teaspoons of sugar. As a comparison, you should only have a maximum of 6-9 teaspoons of sugar in a day and you can pass that limit with only one glass of Peach Snapple.
Other normal soft drinks are also bad for you for how much sugar you are ingesting – think Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, or pretty much anything on the market at the moment.
5. Chips
Some chips are not that bad for you, but a majority still are if you are trying to get a lean body and that coveted six-pack look.
“Almost all chips are super high in salt, sugar, and fat. Also, because they’re cooked at such a high temperature, it could cause the formation of carcinogens.
6. Cream Cheese
Cream cheese is made up of full-fat milk and cream. “Does that sound like what you would include in your diet if you want to get a six-pack?”
7. Pizza
Pizza is a combination of fat from the cheese and carbs from the dough and a bunch of salt altogether.
One slice of pizza can have 285 calories. When was the last time you had only one slice of pizza? Most people have 2 or more, which would put you well above 500 calories. If you combine this with desserts or a soft drink, you have a recipe for going overboard in your diet.
8. Honey Mustard
Two tablespoons of honey mustard have 130 calories, 6 grams of sugar and 11 grams of fat. But honey mustard is not alone on this list: any high-calorie condiments should be avoided as is easy to undermine the amount of calories they pack.

9. Fried Chicken
Although chicken is a great source of lean protein for your body, you can almost guarantee that anything you fry will be detrimental to your fitness goals.
Fried chicken will create a huge spike in calories, fat and carbs in your diet. If you eat out, chicken is usually fried in the cheapest oil available, so also not high in quality and is bad for your health.
