Inside Huckberry’s Proof Line: Shirt and Shorts Review

| May 19, 2026 / 3 min read

Finding workout gear that can handle intense training while still looking sharp outside the gym isn’t easy. Huckberry’s Proof line promises to deliver both performance and style in one package, so we put the shirt and shorts to the test to see how they actually hold up during real workouts.

The Shirt

Lightweight, stretchy, and genuinely sweat-smart

Let’s start with the shirt, because honestly? I loved it. For hybrid wear what you want is stretchy and thin and that seems to be a tricky combination. I’ve tried lots of gear that has had the stretch I need but it’s been a bit too thick and as sweat accumulates it can really weigh you down.

This one gets it right on both counts. The fabric is lightweight without feeling flimsy, and it’s got serious stretch. It stays thin, moves with you, and didn’t get heavy as my workouts progressed. The all-black colorway is clean and versatile. The look is sleek, the fit is on point, and performance-wise it’s a straight 10/10.

The Shorts

Stylish, but the liner is a dealbreaker for some

The shorts are solid — good style, nice fit, nothing to complain about aesthetically. One caveat though: the built-in liner. If you’re someone who prefers a more breathable, liner-free experience, this might bug you. It’s not a huge knock on the shorts themselves, more of a personal preference thing, but it’s worth knowing before you buy. Style and fit score highly; the liner drops it down a notch for anyone particular about that detail.

Durability

Jury’s still out on the shirt.

The shorts look robust — no concerns there. The shirt, on the other hand, showed some early signs that it might fray over time. It’s still early days, and we’ll update this review as we put more wear on it, so durability stays “TBD” for now.

Value for Money

Nice gear, but the price is a stretch.

Shirts in this range tend to sit between $40–$80, and this one lands on the higher end. The quality is definitely there, but Proof doesn’t carry the same brand recognition as Nike, Adidas, or the other big names sitting at that same price point. If you know the brand and love the aesthetic, you’ll feel good about the purchase. If you’re comparing purely on name value, it might be a harder sell.

Who’s it For?

Built for athletes who take it seriously.

This kit fits right in with a community of people who actually push themselves — whether that’s calisthenics, lifting, or balling with friends at the local court. It’s designed for athletes, it looks like it’s designed for athletes, and it performs like it too. Community fit: 10/10.

Bottom line: the Huckberry Proof shirt is genuinely impressive kit — light, stretchy, and sweat-smart. The shorts score well too, aside from the liner. Value is the only real sticking point. A solid 80% overall.
