Time for Endurance – CrossFit Games Day 2 Workouts for Adaptive, Teen and Masters Athletes

These are the workouts scheduled for Master, Teen and Adaptive athletes during the second day of the 2021 CrossFit Games.

The second day of competition will see the youngest and oldest athletes, as well as adaptive athletes, compete in two long events, which involve a combination of bike erg calories, GHD sit-ups, weighted squats and handstand walks, as well as an open water swim.

The 16-17 and 35-44 age divisions will tackle three events during this second day of competition; including a version of the above two mentioned workouts and an additional combination of row calories, clean and jerks and a sled push.

CrossFit Games Masters and Teens Event 4

Ages 16-17, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49

For time:

42 medicine-ball GHD sit-ups (20/14 lb., women to 6-in. riser)
42 dumbbell squats (50/35 lb.)
84-ft. handstand walk (Athletes must complete 42-ft. section unbroken.)
42 sandbag squats (150/100 lb.)
84-ft. handstand walk (Athletes must complete 42-ft. section unbroken.)

Ages 50-54, 55-59, 14-15

Cuts to Masters and Teen Divisions

CrossFit announced there will be cuts to the Masters and Teen divisions before the end of the CrossFit Games competition. The fields, which started with 20 qualified athletes, will be reduced to 10 for each respective final event.

The field of athletes in the 16-17 and 35-44 age divisions will be cut in half on Thursday after Event 8. For athletes in the 14-15 and 45-65+ divisions cuts will come on Thursday after Event 6.

CrossFit Games Age Groups

There will be a total of 9 events for athletes in the 16-17, 35-39 and 40-44 age group divisions and a total of 7 events for all other age groups, which include athletes in the 14-15, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and 65+ brackets.

Age Groups will compete between Tuesday, July 27 and Thursday, July 29. At the end of competition, the best athletes will be crowned Fittest on Earth.

Age Divisions and Adaptive Prize Purse

The 2021 CrossFit Games prize purse for Masters and Adaptive athletes will be distributed as follows:

Masters 35-39

  • 1st place – $25,000
  • 2nd place – $10,000
  • 3rd place – $5,000

Masters 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64

  • 1st place – $10,000
  • 2nd place – $5,000
  • 3rd place – $3,000

Masters 65+

  • 1st place – $5,000
  • 2nd place – $3,000
  • 3rd place – $2,000

Total for all men’s and women’s masters divisions: $280,000

Upper extremity, lower extremity, and neuromuscular

  • 1st place – $5,000
  • 2nd place – $3,000
  • 3rd place – $2,000
