Hong Beom-seok arrived at HYROX Singapore 2026 with momentum building in his comeback season. He left with one of the most complete performances of the weekend.
Across two races in Singapore, Hong showed both consistency and top-end performance, highlighted by a Pro Doubles win alongside Gabe Heck in 52:34.
It was not the only result worth noting.
Earlier in the weekend, Hong teamed up with Minho Choi in the Open Doubles division. The pair crossed the line in 56:06 before a 15-second penalty adjusted their time to 56:21, placing them fourth overall and 1st in their age group.
A strong start, but only part of the story.
Building Toward the Main Event
Hong’s decision to race twice across the weekend reflected his current approach. After returning from injury, he has focused on race exposure, rhythm, and execution under fatigue.
The Open Doubles performance with Choi set the tone. Fast, controlled, and competitive from the opening wave, it showed that his engine is back where it needs to be.
By the time the Pro Doubles race came around, the goal was simple. Execute.
A Partnership That Delivered
Teaming up with Heck, one of the most consistent performers in HYROX, Hong delivered his best race of the weekend when it mattered most.
The pair moved smoothly through the course, maintaining pace across both runs and stations. There were no major drops, no visible mistakes, just steady pressure from start to finish.
They crossed the line in 52:34 to take the win.
After the race, an emotional celebration followed, reflecting both the performance and what it meant in the context of Hong’s return to the sport.
Heck later noted he had no big expectations going in. Just a chance to race, compete, and see what was possible.
Momentum in 2026
Singapore adds another strong chapter to Hong’s 2026 season.
After working his way back from injury, he is now stringing together performances across formats, from Open to Pro, singles to doubles. That versatility is starting to show again.
More importantly, the sharpness is returning.
Winning in a competitive Pro Doubles field, especially after already racing earlier in the weekend, points to a level of fitness and resilience that is trending in the right direction.
