Roman Khrennikov Denied Visa for CrossFit Games Again

The Russian athlete qualified to the Games after his performance at the Dubai CrossFit Championship and won the Italian Showdown later in the season.

It’s the second year CrossFit athlete Roman Khrennikov has been denied entry to the US and will be unable to participate at the CrossFit Games.

On an Instagram post yesterday, the athlete shared:

“Magic did not happen. I have not received a visa to USA.”

Roman finished 5th at the Dubai CrossFit Championship, qualifying so to the CrossFit Games. Later in the season he went on to win the Italian Showdown, finishing ahead of names like Scott Panchik, Noah Ohlsen and Lukas Esslinger.

His invite to the Games from the Dubai Sanctional will most likely be handed down to 8th place finisher Connor Duddy.

Last year, Roman qualified to the Games after winning the Europe Regional. After having his visa denied twice, he was unable to compete on the biggest stage.
