Lowlands Throwdown was a CrossFit sanctioned event in which athletes would compete to receive an invitation to the CrossFit Games. This was the first of 2 European Semifinals programmed. The top 5 athletes in each category (men, women, and team) have qualified for the Games in Madison. Individual athletes who finished 6th, 7th, and 8th received an invitation to participate in the Last-Chance Qualifier.
Check down below the Lowlands Throwdown results in each category, podium finishers, and athletes who can still go to Madison after the Last-Chance Qualifier.

Lowlands Throwdown Full Recap
Last year’s 2nd Fittest Woman on Earth had a solid game this past weekend. Laura Horváth was 1 of 2 female athletes to finish all workouts in the top 10. She won events 4 and 6.
Who was the other athlete who managed to finish all workouts in the top 10? Newcomer Lucy Campbell. This will be the first time the 25-year-old athlete from the U.K. is competing at the CrossFit Games since her first jab at the CrossFit Open in 2019. Matilde Garnes will also be featuring for the first time at the Games as an individual athlete (she competed in 2018 as part of team CrossFit Maxpuls).
Sadly, a fan favourite has not gone through straight to the CrossFit Games. Sara Sigmundsdottir was planning her “epic comeback” this year after missing the 2021 CrossFit season due to an ACL rupture. However, this won’t be the last time we see her this year, as she can compete at the Last-Chance Qualifier.
The well-rounded Lazar Dukic maintained his favouritism during the Semifinal. Last year he competed for the first time at the Games and came out in 9th. Check out this extensive interview BOXROX had with him last year.
Of all 5 athletes who qualified for the CrossFit Games this year on the men’s leaderboard, two of them are rookies: Moritz Fiebig from Germany and Enrico Zenoni from Italy. Fiebig managed to win the last event and guaranteed his Games invitation.
This weekend if there was any doubt that Annie Thorisdottir’s super team would come out on top, those questions were put to rest. CrossFit Reykjavík dominated the entire roster and won every single event put forward. Their team was the only one to finish workout 6.
