CrossFit just released a statement detailing why veteran Masters athlete Dan Bailey is out of the 2021 CrossFit Games.
“Master athlete Dan Bailey tested positive for COVID-19 via an antigen test this morning and has been medically withdrawn from competition.”
Dan Bailey took it to Instagram to explain what happened. He did two COVID tests early morning on Tuesday and both of them turned out positive.
Many fans were looking forward to watching the excellent athlete make his comeback.
Dan Bailey was a former Division 1 sprinter at Ohio University and a 5-time CrossFit Games veteran, regularly competing against other top CrossFit Athletes such as Rich Froning and Josh Bridges.
He finished in fourth position at the 2015 CrossFit Games, won the Open in 2011 and earned himself the Spirit of the Games award in 2015.
