New Potential Start Date Announced for 2020 CrossFit Games

A new potential date for the CrossFit Games has been announced following their postponement last week.

The potential start date is now Sept. 14.

CrossFit announced it will continue to monitor events globally and adapt plans for the Games “in an effort to host an exciting event for the community.”

Last week, CrossFit announced the CrossFit Games would be rescheduled amidst “travel restrictions” and “circumstances beyond control.”

Dave Castro said he’d discussed new dates and introduced athletes qualified to the Games to CrossFit’s incoming owner and CEO, Eric Roza.

The Games were set originally set to take place between July 29 and August 2 in Madison, Wisconsin. Following the global pandemic, they were then moved to Aromas, California.

The competitive field was also reduced to 60 individual athletes and it was announced the Games wouldn’t be a public event.

This will be the last year Dave Castro programs for the CrossFit Games.
