James Sprague won the 2024 CrossFit Games, the 18th edition of the competition, which was held in Fort Worth, Texas. He wasn’t present at the Mayhem event, which was won by Victor Hoffer.
Recently at the 2026 Mayhem Classic, a highly interesting and brutal event, Gwen, was programmed into the competition. Check it out.

It is also worth noting that he completed the workout on Friday, before the other athletes were scheduled to complete Gwen on the Saturday at CrossFit Mayhem. He had no prior knowledge of how they would strategize, and no times to compete against or be inspired to beat.
