HYROX UK Expands Charity Impact for 26/27 Season: Renewed Macmillan Cancer Support Partnership and introduction of Global ‘Race for Impact’ Initiative

| Jul 07, 2026 / 4 min read

HYROX, the World Series of Fitness Racing, today announces a major evolution in its charity programme for the upcoming 2026/2027 season in the UK. HYROX is extending its highly successful partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support while introducing its global charity partner, High Impact Athletes (HIA), through the Race for Impact initiative, for the first time in the UK.

This season, every UK HYROX event will give athletes the chance to race for a deeper purpose, with dedicated charity entries. Through the ticketing process, athletes will have the option to race through either charity, deciding where their impact goes: supporting individuals facing cancer through Macmillan charity tickets, or Race for Impact, the Olympian-founded initiative that funds independently vetted charities tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges, across mental health, global health, women’s empowerment, animal welfare and climate solutions.

Athletes can secure their spot in the typically sold-out fitness races by committing to a minimum fundraising target, applicable equally to both Macmillan and Race for Impact, depending on the racing division they choose across singles, doubles, or relay.

The number of people living with cancer in the UK is at a record high, now almost 3.5 million*, and will continue to rise; that’s where Macmillan comes in. They’re doing whatever it takes to help everyone with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. Macmillan provides a vital listening ear, expert advice, and emotional or practical support whenever it is needed most.

To date, the incredible HYROX athlete community has come together, pushed it to the limit and raised an outstanding £9,556,976.12 for Macmillan. This amount could support the three frontline teams on the Macmillan Support Line for almost ten months. In this time, the charity’s registered nurses, information specialists and welfare rights advisors could support almost 75,000 people affected by cancer with a wide range of expert advice, information and support**. This extended partnership solidifies a shared commitment to ensuring no one faces cancer alone.

Race for Impact is a global movement that turns fitness into a force for good, giving racers a way to compete for a better world. Built on the belief that giving should do the most good it possibly can, it works with independent evaluators to find the highest-performing charities in each cause area. Racers choose the cause they race for.

Race for Impact launched less than a year ago, and the HYROX community has already turned it into one of the fastest-scaling movements in sport-for-good. More than 35,000 racers across 60 cities worldwide have raised over £4.4 million for high-impact charities, backed by more than 108,000 individual donors.

Based on the charities’ independently assessed cost-effectiveness, that funding translates to***:

  • 263,000 lives improved through clean water, nutrition and disease prevention
  • 108,000 people reached with treatment for depression and anxiety
  • 67,000 women supported through reproductive healthcare and programmes tackling gender-based violence
  • 1.5 million animals helped
  • 164,000 tonnes of CO₂e mitigated, the equivalent of taking 117,000 UK cars off the road for a year

Craig Fordham, Director of Public Fundraising at Macmillan Cancer Support, commented: ‘We’re ecstatic to bring in another year of the partnership after years of overwhelming support from the HYROX community. We want to thank everyone who has raced with us over the last three years, and we can’t wait to welcome more people to Team Macmillan and take on the course to help us support people living with cancer.’

Hugo Inglis, Co-Founder and Managing Director of High Impact Athletes, said: “Bringing Race for Impact to the UK is a milestone for us. HYROX athletes already measure everything, their splits, their reps, their personal bests, and Race for Impact means they can measure the good they do with the same precision, knowing exactly where their money goes and what it achieves. I’m looking forward to seeing what UK racers do when they can compete for impact as seriously as they compete against the clock.”

Moritz Fürste, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer at HYROX commented: “HYROX is rooted in community, and our charity partners are a huge part of that. Extending our journey with Macmillan Cancer Support was a natural next step, given the incredible effect it has across the UK. By bringing High Impact Athletes’ Race for Impact into this, we’re expanding that reach even further – giving participants the opportunity to support the causes that matter most to them. Whether it’s helping someone living with cancer in their local community or tackling climate change and poverty on a global scale, this is just the beginning of a movement that goes beyond sport.”

Registration for Charity Tickets for the HYROX 26/27 season will open alongside general event scaling. For more information on how to secure a charity place, visit https://hyroxuk.com/
