CrossFit Open Workout 18.4 Live Announcement – Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson

Everything you need to know about the fittest man in Europe.

Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson will compete against Scott Panchik at the CrossFit Open Workout 18.4 live announcement on the 15th of March in CrossFit Fury in Goodyear, Arizona.

Director of The CrossFit Games, Dave Castro, will reveal the WOD, then the two athletes will warm up and throw down. Check BOXROX for all the tips, movement standards, scaling rules etc that you may need to help you complete the fourth workout of the 2018 Open.

CrossFit Open Workout 18.4 – Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson

Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson (aka BK Gudmundsson) is an Icelandic athlete from Hveragerði. He is a 25 year old former soccer player that turned to CrossFit and is training at CrossFit Hengill. His first time competing at Regionals saw him finish in 13th place, and he made it to the CrossFit Games  in 2014. BK´s best result was in 2015, were he fought his way onto the podium and took third place at the CrossFit Games with an event win in one of the hardest event in the Games at the time, Murph. In 2017, Bjorgvin Karl Gudmundsson finished as the fifth fittest man on earth!

Bjorgvin is a skilled athlete that focuses on every detail in order to improve himself. He won the 2017 Dubai fitness championship in December and has been invited to be a member of the European team at Invitationals every year since 2014.

BK Guðmundsson is a down to earth guy who keeps his ego at check by staying in Iceland with his friends and family.

CrossFit Open 16.2

BJORGVIN KARL GUOMUNDSSON vs DAN BAILEY

Beginning on a 4-minute clock, complete as many reps as possible of:

  • 25 Toes-To-Bars
  • 50 Double-Unders
  • 15 Squat Cleans, 135 / 85 lb.

If completed before 4 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:

  • 25 Toes-To-Bars
  • 50 Double-Unders
  • 13 Squat Cleans, 185 / 115 lb.

If completed before 8 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:

  • 25 Toes-To-Bars
  • 50 Double-Unders
  • 11 Squat Cleans, 225 / 145 lb.

If completed before 12 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:

  • 25 Toes-To-Bars
  • 50 Double-Unders
  • 9 Squat Cleans, 275 / 175 lb.

If completed before 16 minutes, add 4 minutes to the clock and proceed to:

  • 25 Toes-To-Bars
  • 50 Double-Unders
  • 7 Squat Cleans, 315 / 205 lb.

Stop at 20 minutes.

WORKOUT 17.2

Men use 50-lb. dumbbells

Complete as many rounds and reps as possible in 12 minutes of:

2 rounds of:

  • 50-ft. Weighted Walking Lunge
  • 16 Toes-To-Bars
  • 8 Power Cleans

Then, 2 rounds of:

  • 50-ft. Weighted Walking Lunge
  • 16 Bar Muscle-Ups
  • 8 Power Cleans

Etc., alternating between toes-to-bars and bar muscle-ups every 2 rounds.
