One of the reasons is that it is a great time of year to reflect, reassess and define how you want your 2019 to look.

Before we go into our goal setting process for 2019 we first of all want to give you 3 little points as to why we use goal setting:
Goals trigger behaviour
Once you have identified what it is you want to achieve, you can then start working towards that.
Goals guide your focus
If you know what you want, everything that doesn’t take you in that direction becomes less of a focus.
I.e. If you want to be an athlete, then going out drinking is less of a priority as it simply doesn’t lead you to your goal.
Goals sustain momentum
We should all understand this, when you have something to aim for it makes it easier to have a path of how to get there.
We have all seen this in workouts, it is much easier to have time to chase rather than setting the time – why? Because the goal is clear.
New Year – New Goals
Although it is now seen as a cliché the New Year IS a great time for reflection and planning, 2018 is soon to be behind us and a whole new year awaits.
For us 2018 was a huge year of changes for the competitive CrossFit season and with that have come many new opportunities.
Over this Christmas break we guided each of our athletes to spend just 20 – 30 minutes working/thinking through the questions below and helping set clear goals for 2019.
It is often best to write the answers down in notes or on a piece of paper. That way you can then either put them in a place you can check in on over the next few months. We will be holding our athletes accountable to them and if you can find a friend to help you stay accountable the goals will be a lot easier to achieve as the year goes forward.
