How to Watch CrossFit Open Workout 21.2 Live Announcement

The second CrossFit Open workout for 2021 will be released on Thursday, March 18.

The CrossFit Open workout 21.2 will be released on Thursday, March 18 at 5pm PT, its live announcement coming from CrossFit’s office in Scotts Valley, California.

General Manager of Sport Dave Castro, who also programs the CrossFit Open workouts, will announce the details of 21.2 live before two well-known athletes tackle the workout.

The second CrossFit Open workout live announcement will see “Youth vs. Experience” go head-to-head. Scheduled to match up are top American athletes Samuel Kwant and Justin Medeiros.

Samuel Kwant is a four-time CrossFit Games athlete and 2020 Games second-place finisher, while Justin Medeiros is the 2020 Games third-place finisher and Rookie of the Year.

The CrossFit Open workout 21.2 will be announced live on the CrossFit Games website, as well as CrossFit’s YouTube channel, Facebook page and Twitch (links below):

The CrossFit Open is a three-week online competition and has become the largest participatory sporting event in the world. It marks the start of the CrossFit season and unites athletes from all ability levels around the world.

Every week for three weeks, CrossFit releases a workout for athletes to complete at home. Each workout is released on a Thursday and athletes have until the following Monday to submit their scores.

With the addition of Foundations and Equipment-Free divisions, as well as eight Adaptive divisions together with the usual Scaled and RX divisions, the 2021 CrossFit Open is the most inclusive Open to date.

CrossFit Open Workout 21.2 Live Announcement Athlete Mashup

Samuel Kwant vs. Justin Medeiros

Samuel Kwant has been a Regionals Athlete since 2014 and is a four-time CrossFit Games competitor, with a career best finish of 2nd place in 2020. The 25-year-old currently follows CompTrain and trains under Ben Bergeron and Harry Palley.

Justin Medeiros made his CrossFit Games debut in 2020, finishing 3rd and earning the title of Rookie of the Year. The 22-year-old currently trains in CrossFit Fort Vancouver with coach Adam Neiffer and is majoring in Kinesiology at Boise State University.
