The German Throwdown happened this weekend and Luka Dukic and Angonese Manon have won for the elite male and female categories respectively.
The German Throwdown happened in Halle 45, in Mainz, Germany, on Saturday and Sunday. A total of 6 workouts were designed to discover who was the fittest among the athletes in the competition.
Just like the CrossFit Games, the German Throwdown had multiple categories in play. Besides the elite male and female, we also saw teams competing, teenagers, and master athletes.

Luka Dukic and Angonese Manon Win the German Throwdown
Luka Dukic has won the competition after a tight battle. He finished with 538 points, 12 above second place. Dukic won workout 1 and finished top 3 on workouts 2, 4, 5, and 6.
Luka is the younger brother of Lazar Dukic, the 9th Fittest Man on Earth this year and fittest siblings in Serbia. Luka finished 29th at the 2021 CrossFit Games.

Angonese Manon is a Belgian athlete who usually finished on the podium at the German Throwdown but has never come out on top.
She smoked the competition with 560 points, 17 points ahead of 2nd place. She won events 3 and 5 and finished top 5 on the remaining workouts.
Angonese is 28 years old and has not qualified for the CrossFit Games yet. This year she finished 8th at the CrossFit Lowlands Throwdown and 6th at the Last-Chance Qualifier.
Both Luka Dukic and Angonese Manon are confirmed athletes at the Dubai CrossFit Championship this year.
