What is the best way to get strong abs and a six pack?

If you are wondering why you don’t have a six pack right now? Truthfully, you have. Every human being has a six pack, some have an 8-pack or even a 10-pack (they exist, but are extremely rare). But what is the best way to get strong abs and a six pack? For that, we look no further than the comments and knowledge of Jeff Cavaliere.

Jeff Cavaliere was the head physical therapist of the New York Mets for 3 years and is now a YouTube sensation. He delivers clear information without noise on his ATHLEAN-X YouTube channel.

He shared a video titled “the only how to get abs video you need” in which he explains the best way to get strong abs and a six pack. Check it out.

But what if you only have a four pack and not a six pack abs? He says those don’t exist, but rather you have an underdeveloped chest that visually makes it look like you don’t have that extra division to the normal six pack.

So what is the best way to get strong abs and a six pack according to Cavaliere? Their appearance comes down to nutrition and training. If you are skinny and still don’t see your well-defined abs, you are not training them properly.

Like any other muscle in the body, the abs can be hypertrophied and grow with proper training stimulus. Apply progressive overload to your ab movements as you do for your chest exercises. Do weighted exercises, add more weight, do a variation that is harder to complete, do more reps, sets, keep your abs under a longer period of tension.

There are three ways to approach your training to understand the best way to get strong abs and a six pack:

  • Tension overload – weighted exercises
  • Eccentric overload – utilising a physioball, for example
  • Metabolic stress – train your abs more frequently

Why is Too Much Body Fat Bad?

Having too much body fat can be harmful to your health in several ways:

Increased Risk of Cardiovascular Diseases: Excess body fat increases the risk of cardiovascular diseases such as high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke. This is because the extra fat in the body puts a strain on the heart, making it work harder to pump blood throughout the body.

Increased Risk of Type 2 Diabetes: Excess body fat can cause insulin resistance, which can lead to type 2 diabetes. Insulin resistance occurs when the body’s cells become less responsive to insulin, a hormone that regulates blood sugar levels.

Joint Pain: Excess body fat puts additional stress on your joints, which can lead to joint pain, particularly in the knees and hips.

Respiratory Problems: Having too much body fat can cause respiratory problems such as shortness of breath, sleep apnea, and asthma.

Increased Risk of Cancer: Studies have shown that excess body fat increases the risk of certain types of cancer, including breast, colon, and prostate cancer.

Poor Mental Health: Being overweight or obese can have negative effects on mental health, including depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem.

Decreased Quality of Life: Excess body fat can make it difficult to perform daily activities, reduce mobility and agility, and lead to social isolation and reduced quality of life.

Overall, maintaining a healthy body weight is essential for optimal physical and mental health.
