Obviously we wouldn’t just let the rig stand there while the Teams are doing their Beach WOD.. —- CrossFit FiCT 2019’s “Baywatch 2019”, presented by @mifitness_za, was earlier announced as “Team 100’s” and even though the foundation of the WOD is the same, it is now also sprinkled with partner carries and swimming. # —- IMPORTANT NOTES: – There will be a safety brief with the @dhlcliftonsurflifesaving team at 10.00 on the day of the event. ALL 4 team athletes must be checked in BEFORE this or the team will NOT be allowed to compete in this WOD. – During a Carry + Swim + Carry leg the 2 non working athletes must remain in the safety zone at all time. – All team athletes do not have to swim. Theoretically the same athlete could perform all 4 swims for their team. —- All announced workouts, with descriptions, will be posted on our webpage from tomorrow – we highly recommend the athletes and teams to read it through carefully to come well prepared for what has been released. #CrossFit #FiCT #Sanctionals #crossfitgames #cliftonlifesavers #mifitness #beachworkout

Following "Mad Max Out" the Teams will get ONE minute rest before they attack the next WOD. — CrossFit FiCT 2019's "The Gymnastic Conga" is presented by BoxChamp and will test the athletes gymnastic capacity as a Team, and as individuals. NOTE: – Any order is allowed on Bar Gymnastics, but every swop must contain a gender swop. – On the HSW, any order is permitted. – The Team will first perform 10m each Relay style before moving on to the second 10m. – There will be a tie breaker after each Bar Gymnastic Movement. —— PS: WOD #3 "Mad Max Out" and WOD #4 "The Gymnastic Conga" are TWO separate Full Point Scoring opportunities. Out of all the workouts during CrossFit FiCT 2019 I guess we can call this one the separator? — "B-Boys and Fly Girls" is presented by our Official Recovery Drink @endurade and will test the teams high level skills in a weightlifting vs gymnastic bonanza! The teams can chose which order their Female and Male pairs attack either barbell or gymnastics themselves, but can only swop station come both pairs are finished with the 50 or 25 reps on their station. —- Unfinished reps will count as a second added to the time cap and there will be a tiebreaker after each finished segment so strategy might come in play. —- PS. This will be the teams 7th WOD at FiCT and take place on Saturday morning as the second last workout that ALL teams are guaranteed to compete in (there is a cut to the top 15 teams after workout 8). #CrossFit #FiCT2019 #Sanctionals #fittestincapetown #fittestinafrica

Fitness, Coordination, Endurance, and most importantly: Team Work. —- CrossFit FiCT 2019 "Team 100's" is presented by our Official Equipment Partner @mifitness_za and will see the teams first go through a buy-in of 25x20m Shuttle Runs before moving through a trio of movements where the requirement of synchronisation will test the team work to the max. On the CTB and KBS one female and one male athlete will be working at the time, athletes can swop at any time. In the Squats all 4 athletes will be working in synchronization with their own Kettle Bell as load. — PS. We won't disclose the timing of this event just yet. Of course we gonna let the Teams throw some heavy weights around too. —- CrossFit FiCT 2019 Team Event 3: “Mad Max Out” is presented by our Official Supplement Partner @nutritechfit. The event will be the second one for the Teams on Friday the 1st of February and will take place on Platforms inside the grass arena. —— Important Notes: – ALL team athletes can help load bars and change weights. – However: only the lifting athlete is allowed inside the 5m block while a lift is going on. – Both Female athletes will establish a 1RM Snatch each in the first 3 minutes and so on. – Females use 15kg Barbell, Men use 20kg Barbell. – Yes, as part of the test the TEAM must change Barbell between each segment, and No there is no rest between the 3min lifting windows. – The Squat requirement dictates a continuous movement to below parallel (power + squat is not allowed). – Athletes must stay on platform at all time, stepping off = no rep. – Athletes must make sure Barbell stays on the platform after a successful lift, dropping it off the platform = no rep. —- Let’s see what teams will be putting up the biggest numbers, what’s your guesses? #CrossFit #FiCT2019 #Sanctionals #fittestincapetown #fittestinafrica #roadtocapetown #roadtomadison #crossfitgames

LIVE FEED

Fittest in Cape Town 2019 will for the first time in FiCT history be streamed live via Facebook Live and on our Webpage!

The production is a simple version of a live feed and will NOT be commentated at all times as an example. The idea is for people from across the world to check in and see what’s going on in combination with keeping themselves updated through our Social Media channels that will pump information constantly.

There will most likely be a little wrap up from most events, and/or at the end of each day where our MC’s will give you a break down on what’s happened so far. 

We hope you support our efforts to make FiCT somewhat accessible even for those that can’t attend the stadium itself.
