CrossFit Games: Individuals and Teams Will Race on a Mountain Bike

We saw athletes competing in a mountain bike event last year.

CrossFit has announced new information about another workout we will see at the 2023 CrossFit Games this year. We will see individuals and teams jumping on a mountain bike again – we saw the mountain bike as part of the first event in last year’s CrossFit Games.

Information about the event that will include the mountain bike race is still scarce. However, we know individuals and teams will be jumping on a Trek Marlin 8 Mountain Bike at some point during the 2023 CrossFit Games. You can see the bike in the photo below.

Lovers of the Sport will remember that last year we saw athletes taking the mountain bike for a run as well. It was the very first event of the 2022 CrossFit Games and it was incredibly messy, to say the least.

The first workout of the 2022 CrossFit was titled “Bike to Work.”

For time:

  • 75 toes-to-bars
  • 5-mile bike
  • 75 chest-to-bar pull-ups
  • 5-mile bike

At the end of the event, a number of athletes counted their mountain bike laps wrong doing either one less than expected, or one more. Ricky Garard and Haley Adams won the event – both athletes are not competing this year.

Let’s hope this year there isn’t such a big mess regarding the bike event in Madison.
