Homemade Protein Bars For You to Save Money

Ingredients:

  • 3 servings of whole-pitted dates (120 grams)
  • 110 grams of Greek yoghurt
  • 60 grams of rolled oats
  • 128 grams of a nut butter or nut butter alternative
  • 75 grams of protein powder
  • (optional) stick pack of element chocolate salt

How to Make it:

Put all 120 grams of dates into a food processor and pulse until “a giant ball forms.”

In a mixing bowl, add all the other ingredients (Greek yoghurt, oats, nut butter, protein powder and chocolate salt if you want it) and mix it a little bit. After a while, add the ball of dates into the mix and continue mixing until everything is combined.

These is the base for your homemade protein bar. If you want to add anything else to it, according to your liking, it is up to you. The Protein Chef says some good ideas are nuts, hemp seeds, chocolate chips, ground cinnamon, or even dried fruit.

Take out a baking sheet and parchment paper. Take out your mix and shape them in your desire size of a protein bar and put it on the parchment paper.

If your mix is too sticky, you can leave it in the fridge or freezer for 10-15 minutes, or keep your hands damp as you handle the mix so it doesn’t stick on your fingers.

You can now also add any toppings you might want for your homemade protein bar.

Lastly, put it in the oven on 176 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 12-15 minutes or until your edges start to turn golden brown.
