How Walking Can Get You to Only 10% Body Fat
So, how walking can get you to only 10% body fat if it doesn’t burn as many calories as other activities, like swimming or high-intensity interval training (HIIT), for example?

Diamonds’ explains while citing some research made, that cardio workouts can directly impair strength and muscle hypertrophy. HIIT can be effective in burning calories, but taxing on the body.
Over time it can affect your ability to build or even maintain muscle.
That is why too much cardio can make you look stringy or skinny fat. Yes, Diamonds will always use some HIIT to contribute to his fat loss technique, but walking is incredibly low-impact on your body.
Because of its low-impact nature, you can ramp up how much you walk and it won’t hinder your performance at the gym. You can continue your progressive overload strength training in the gym while adding the calories you burn through walking.
He also explains that, while walking does not burn as many calories as other forms of cardio, the calories it burns come from fat stores.
Ultimately, how much walking do you need to do to get to 10% body fat? Well, it depends.
Diamonds recommends beginning with 8,000 steps daily. Weekly, or bi-weekly, increase your steps by 1,000. At some point, to get absolutely shredded for competition, Mike Diamonds got to 25,000 steps a day.
You can simply go for a walk around the neighbourhood for 30 minutes. Maybe two sessions, one in the morning and one in the evening, and you will already be burning fat cells in your body to lower your body fat percentage.
